TYPEOPS COMMAND // INSTRUCTOR GUIDE
BUILD YOUR CURRICULUM. DEPLOY IT OFFLINE.
TYPEOPS COMMAND includes a built-in Instructor Edition that allows educators and training programs to create, manage, distribute, and reuse their own training content.
No programming or manual editing of curriculum files is required.
NO INTERNET REQUIRED. NO STUDENT ACCOUNTS. NO SUBSCRIPTIONS.
1 // ACCESS INSTRUCTOR EDITION
From the TYPEOPS COMMAND main menu, select:
INSTRUCTOR EDITION
The first time Instructor Edition is opened, you will be asked to create a 4–8 digit Instructor PIN.
This PIN protects the curriculum-authoring tools from normal student access.
Enter the PIN twice and select:
SAVE INSTRUCTOR ACCESS
Keep your Instructor PIN in a secure location.
2 // AUTHORIZED CURRICULUM TOOLS
After entering Instructor Edition, instructors have access to the following tools:
CREATE TRAINING PACK
Build a new custom curriculum from within TYPEOPS COMMAND.
EDIT TRAINING PACK
Modify an existing custom Training Pack.
IMPORT TRAINING PACK
Install a TYPEOPS Training Pack created on another computer.
EXPORT TRAINING PACK
Save a Training Pack for backup or distribution to other TYPEOPS installations.
MANAGE TRAINING PACKS
Manage the custom Training Packs installed on the computer.
CHANGE INSTRUCTOR PIN
Change the PIN used to access Instructor Edition.
3 // CREATE A TRAINING PACK
Select:
CREATE TRAINING PACK
The Training Pack Authoring system allows you to enter information about your curriculum and organize the material into modules and exercises.
Training Packs can be designed around the needs of your classroom or training program.
For example, instructors could create content covering:
- Computer terminology
- Workplace vocabulary
- Career-readiness material
- Technology history
- Course-specific terminology
- Safety procedures
- Professional vocabulary
- Review material
- Custom typing practice
Create your modules, add the appropriate exercises, organize the material, and save your Training Pack.
4 // EXPORT YOUR TRAINING PACK
Once your Training Pack is ready, return to the Instructor Edition and select:
EXPORT TRAINING PACK
TYPEOPS COMMAND will open a standard Windows Save dialog.
Training Packs are exported as:
TYPEOPS Training Pack (.json)
Choose where you want to save the file.
For offline classrooms, the Training Pack can be saved directly to a USB flash drive for distribution.
5 // DEPLOY TO CLASSROOM COMPUTERS
On another computer running TYPEOPS COMMAND:
- Insert the USB drive containing the exported Training Pack.
- Launch TYPEOPS COMMAND.
- Open INSTRUCTOR EDITION.
- Enter the Instructor PIN for that computer.
- Select IMPORT TRAINING PACK.
- Locate the exported
.jsonTraining Pack. - Import the Training Pack.
Repeat this process on each classroom computer that should receive the curriculum.
BUILD ONCE. DEPLOY ANYWHERE.
A Training Pack can be created on one instructor workstation and distributed to multiple TYPEOPS COMMAND installations.
This makes TYPEOPS suitable for computer labs and other environments where internet connectivity, cloud services, or student accounts may not be available.
6 // SHARE TRAINING PACKS
Exported Training Packs can also be shared with other instructors or programs using TYPEOPS COMMAND.
An instructor can create curriculum once, export the Training Pack, and provide the file to another authorized instructor for import into their own installation.
This allows departments and programs to develop and distribute standardized TYPEOPS curriculum while maintaining local control.
IMPORTANT // BACK UP YOUR CURRICULUM
We recommend keeping backup copies of any Training Packs you create.
After completing or updating an important Training Pack, use EXPORT TRAINING PACK and store a backup on an approved USB drive or other secure storage device.
